BIG4 Racecourse Beach Tourist Park FAQ's
What are your opening hours?
Reception is open from 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday to Thursday and 8:30am to 5:30pm Friday to Sunday.
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in time for cabin accommodation is from 2pm and from 11am for sites. Checkout time is 10am.
What park amenities/facilities do you offer?
We have a great range of facilities at Racecourse Beach! A 25m saltwater swimming pool, sauna, jumping pillows, fire pits, tennis courts, basketball court, bike riding, adventure playground, activity centre, free WiFi, mini golf, camp kitchens and BBQs plus amenities blocks with laundries.
Do you allow fires?
Fire pits can be used in the park only during May, June, July and August, provided there are no fire bans in place by the RFS. We have fire pits that we can loan guests with a $50 security bond required and we also sell firewood at the park. Fires are only allowed in self-contained fire pits that are raised off the ground. No other fires are allowed in the park.
Is your park pet friendly?
Unfortunately, we are not a pet friendly park. We are surrounded by National Parks and have native animals visiting the park often. As such, we are unable to accept pets.
What is there to do in the surrounding area?
BIG4 Racecourse Beach Tourist Park is surrounded by beautiful national parks. Just walk directly out onto the beach and you can join the coastal trek through the Murramarang National Park, a unique coastal area that boasts the beautiful Spotted Gum Trees which grow right to the foreshores. Alternatively explore the Shoalhaven region, which is now home to over 15 of Australia’s newest wineries. The region is the perfect climate for wine growing and now you can explore our local gems either on your own or through local tour operators. What is your cancellation policy?

Are you affiliated with BIG4, GDay or NRMA Membership?
We are a BIG4 Park. You can join now or renew an existing membership and get two years of savings and member perks for only $50.
Can you drink the water?
The water for the park is stored rainwater that goes through an extensive filtration system and is safe to drink.
Do the amenities blocks need coins for the showers?
We have three amenities blocks within the park. We have removed the coin system in the showers, so all showers in the park are now free to use.
Do you have laundry facilities?
We have laundry facilities at each of the three amenities blocks. The machines take gold coins. We have single load sachets of laundry powder available at the park shop and can also exchange bank notes for coins for our guests.
Do you have barbeques?
We have barbecues available for our guests in the park. We have several near the Camp Kitchen, two more at the beachfront reserve, and barbecues in the undercover area across from the playground.
Do you have visitor parking?
We have ample visitor parking located at the front of the park, near reception. We only allow one car per two bedroom cabin or campsite and two cars per three bedroom cabin as we do not have internal overflow parking. Additional cars must be parked in the visitors car park. During peak times, we also have overflow parking on the grass verge at the entrance to the park.
Is linen provided?
Linen is provided for the number of people booked in each cabin. We provided sheets and bath towels for each person, but recommend guests bring their own beach towels to use at the beach or pool. All linens are laundered through a linen service off site. As such, additional linens are available if required for a small additional fee.
Do you have mobile phone coverage?
Mobile phone coverage is strong for guests using the Telstra network. However, all other providers receive only a limited signal in the Bawley Point/Kioloa area. This is because those providers have not constructed mobile phone towers within the area. Reception staff can advise on the best areas just a short drive from the park to be able to access a stronger signal for other providers.
Do you allow day visitors?
Racecourse Beach Tourist Park welcome day visitors outside of peak season for a small fee per person. Day visitors are welcome to use all the park facilities. During peak times when the park is at capacity, we may be limited in being able to welcome day visitors. Please phone the park for more information. All visitors must sign in at reception.
Do you have a café or restaurant?
We do not have an onsite café or restaurant at Racecourse Beach. The shop at reception does have a coin-operated coffee machine that makes delicious coffee with freshly ground beans for only $4 a cup. During peak season, we often host pop-up restaurants from local restaurants. The most recent was by Smokey Dan’s Barbecue. This is subject to availability. There are local cafes that offer great dine-in and take away options.
Do you have a store?
Located at the park end of reception is a small store. The shop provides only basic supplies, focusing on snacks, lollies, ice-creams and cold drinks, with only basic grocery items on sale to help with the one or two items a guest may have forgotten. The shop also sells coffee through the coin-operated coffee machine, slushies, ice, bait and does Swap ‘n’ Go gas bottle exchanges. We also sell some wonderful arts and crafts created by people from the local area.
Do you sell gas bottles?
Racecourse has both Elgas Swap ‘n’ Go services and, provided staff are available, can do gas bottle refills for gas bottles that are different from those covered by the Swap ‘n’ Go.
Do you sell ice?
Yes, we sell bags of ice for $5 a bag, provided by Lidcombe Ice.
Do you sell bait?
We have a range of bait for sale provided by Tweed Bait.
Do you offer equipment hire?
We do equipment hire through the shop. We have tennis rackets and balls, basketballs, mini-golf balls and clubs and table tennis equipment. All equipment is free to hire, but we ask for a $20 cash security bond which is returned to the guest when the equipment is returned to the shop.
Do you allow late arrivals?
Guests are welcome to check in after the office has closed. To organise a late arrival, please contact the friendly reception team. Guests are required to pay the balance owing on their accommodation in full if arriving outside of office hours. The team will organise an envelope with the guest’s name on the outside. Inside will be a map of the park along with the boom-gate code and, if for a cabin booking, the key. This envelope will be left in the Late Arrival box next to the front door of reception. The area is well lit and covered by video surveillance. The Racecourse After Hours phone number is listed on the map for those in need of assistance and the Ring video doorbell will also connect guests to the After Hours phone.
